CONSERVATIVES MUST REJOIN TALKS ON PARTY FUNDING - HEATH

12.00.00am GMT Mon 14th Jan 2008

Responding to the findings of the Conservative Party's 'Democracy Task Force' Liberal Democrat Shadow Justice Secretary, David Heath said:

"There is little new in the Tory's party funding proposals but the fact that they are agreeing with Liberal Democrat policy in many areas has to be welcomed.

The public are tired with continuing scandals over party funding and what is needed now is a consensus between the major parties on the key areas of reform.

The first thing David Cameron must announce is that his party will rejoin the talks on party funding they walked out on not very long ago."
