General Election 2019

The General Election has been called for 12th December 2019. We now have the opportunity to re-elect a Liberal Democrat for Somerton and Frome, a seat we held from 1997 to 2015. The tories have been taking advantage of the news cycles to tell the public how much they are going to spend on services over the coming months and the draconian steps they are going to take on crime and the causes of crime. This after overseeing massive cuts to the police, the probation service, the prison service and any other service designed to safeguard our society.

All these campaigning promises are are like "what was on the Bus" and we all know they win votes but mean nothing. The tories are promising so much with so little and we should be asking, where is the money coming from?

note: David Heath won Somerton & Frome for the Liberal Democrats 4 times and held the seat from 1997 – 2015. South Somerset District Council has been under Liberal Democrat control since 1987 and dramatically increased its majority at the last district election. At the same election the Lib Dems took control of Mendip District Council from the tories.
